Located in a residential area in East Manchester, Abbey Hey Allotment site is an award winning and thriving allotment community with over 100 plots. Our membership is wide and varied, with young and old, local residents and city centre dwellers all growing side by side. We have many types of allotment styles from neat rows, to raised beds, to a more laissez faire approach! We have a brood of sixteen chickens currently, looked after by the society and several bee hives, which means you can often purchase fresh and locally produced eggs and honey from the community hut.  We host regular beekeeping events and sow and grow days. We have an active and dedicated Committee who have been working hard to improve the site. Please be advised that there is an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on Sunday 13th September 2015 at 11am in the community hut.The purpose of the meeting is to re-elect the positions of Chair, Secretary and Site 1 representative.Please can all members attend the EGM if possible and can you also consider whether you wish to put yourself forward for one of the above roles in order to help in the successful management of our Society.In the interim period, the roles of Chair, Secretary and Treasurer are held as follows:Chair: Gareth DwyerTreasurer: John JohnsonSecretary: Neil WilkinsonPlease note that it was decided at the last meeting that we would not be holding a summer show this year. The Summer Show will take place on Sunday 25th August 2013 at 12pm. Entries for the veg show have to be in by 11am. Show schedules are available from the hut and the stores from 10th August 2013
